About

This is the blog of Ben Hilburn – a coffee-fueled *nix-lover, dvorak-user, and graduate student.

I graduated from Virginia Tech in December of 2008 with a degree in Computer Engineering and minors in Computer Science and Mathematics and promptly began grad school.  I am now working towards my Masters in Computer Engineering, and plan on graduating in December of 2010.

My interests include: Signal Processing and Analysis, Wireless Communications, Embedded Systems, Processor, Memory, and GPU Organization / Design, Cryptography, and Network / Information Security, and Operating Systems.

I teach Uechi-Ryu Karate at VT, and have a HAM license that I unfortunately never have time to use (KJ4DDR).

In my free time, I enjoy backpacking & hiking, good books, Geocaching, anomalous materials, and entertaining unrealistic dreams of a life spent traveling.

Cheers!
